Opie's Holiday Collection Is Here, and He Has Notes

Opie agreed to be Santa. He agreed to be an elf. He even agreed to be a Christmas tree. He did not agree to look happy about any of it, and honestly, that's why we love him.

The official @justopiethings holiday collection is live at Sly Dawg Studio. It has everything from a keepsake ornament for your tree to the stocking stuffers that cost less than a fancy coffee. Every piece is an original design made in collaboration with Opie's owner. And one of them gives back to dogs who are still waiting for a home of their own.

Cream graphic with dark green and red text reading “Opie’s holiday collection. Deck the halls, Opie style.” Three photos: a round blue Santa Opie ornament with white snowflakes hanging outdoors from a red ribbon; a square red magnet of Opie in a green Christmas tree costume, held in front of Opie; and a small round red elf lapel pin with a silver edge held next to Opie in a knit reindeer hat, with a red badge reading “$5 to ARL Boston.”

Deck the Halls (Opie Is Judging the Halls)

Opie's two home decor pieces are made to stay out long after the wrapping paper is gone.

Opie Santa Christmas Ornament, $22.99. Santa Opie, beard on and tongue out, on a bright blue snowflake background. It's premium aluminum with a silver edge, and it's printed on both sides, so he looks good from every angle of the tree. It arrives in a black velveteen gift bag, ready to give. This is the one Opie fans will pull out of the box every December.

Opie Christmas Tree Magnet, $10.99. Opie in full Christmas tree mode: star on his head, ornaments on his chest, and the face of a dog counting down to January. The 2.5" glossy red magnet has a strong ceramic backing, so it can hold up every holiday card that comes in the mail. Fridge, filing cabinet, locker, wherever.

The Pin That Gives Back

Opie Elf Lapel Pin, $13.99. $5 from every pin goes to the Animal Rescue League of Boston.

Opie took the elf job. He did not take the attitude adjustment. This red lapel pin has a silver edge and the grumpiest elf face in the North Pole, and it arrives in a black velveteen gift bag.

It's small, so it goes anywhere you need a little holiday judgment:

  • Your work badge or lanyard, so the whole break room knows your stance on mandatory fun
  • A beanie or trucker hat
  • A backpack strap or tote bag
  • A jacket or coat lapel for holiday parties

It's an easy gift for coworkers, teachers, nurses and anyone else who badges in every day. And every one sold helps animals at ARL Boston get the care they need while they wait for a family.

Stocking Stuffers That Fit in an Envelope

Deep red graphic with cream and gold text reading “Stocking stuffers. Fits in a holiday card.” A photo of Opie in red Christmas pajamas next to a sage green tumbler with his Christmas tree sticker, beside four white sticker tiles: the Santa 3-pack with Opie in a red Santa hat and white beard, Happy Elf’in Holidays with Opie in a green elf hat and plaid scarf, Opie in a green Christmas tree costume, and the Elf Head sticker with a green “Limited run” badge.

Stickers might be the most underrated holiday gift. They're cheap, they're flat, and they make people laugh. Slip one into a holiday card, tuck a few into a stocking, or mail a stack to a college student who needs something to decorate a laptop and a reminder that home misses them.

  • Opie Santa Sticker 3-Pack, $12. Three moods, one very unimpressed Santa: Santa Opie, Santa Is Judging You and Santa Is Over It. Split them between three stockings.
  • Opie Elf Sticker | Happy Elf'in Holidays, $4.75. Pointy hat, elf ears, plaid scarf and a face that says holiday spirit is optional.
  • Opie Christmas Tree Sticker, $4.75. Star on top, ornaments everywhere, and a dog who did not consent to any of it.
  • Opie Elf Head Sticker, $4.75, limited run. Just the face, elf hat and all. The first 10 orders get one free. Only a handful were made, and once they're gone, they're gone.

Every sticker is 3", kiss-cut, matte waterproof vinyl, dishwasher safe and made in the USA. So yes, it can go on the water bottle that goes through the dishwasher.

Two Good Boys Who Want to Be Home for the Holidays

Opie got lucky. He has a family, a couch and a closet full of pajamas. Arlo and Manny at the Animal Rescue League of Boston are still waiting for theirs. And thanks to a generous donation, their adoption fees have been waived.

Arlo is a cream and yellow Carolina Dog mix, about 3 years old, and a staff favorite at ARL's Dedham shelter. He walks well on leash, he's up for a jog, and he's happiest right by his person's side.

Manny is about 11 months old and full of enthusiasm. He loves rolling in the grass, squeaky toys and car rides. He'd do best in a home without young children, ideally with another playful dog to keep up with him.

If you're in Massachusetts or nearby (ARL also welcomes adopters from NH, RI, CT and NY), meet Arlo, Manny and the rest of the adoptable pets at ARL Boston. Not ready to adopt? Sharing their story helps too, and so does every Opie Elf Lapel Pin.

At the top are photos of Manny, a dark brindle dog with a white chest and red collar, labeled “Manny,” and Arlo, a white and cream dog with upright ears and a black collar, labeled “Arlo.” Both are sitting on a light gray background. Below, red and dark green text reads “Home for the holidays? Manny & Arlo are ready. Thanks to a generous donation, their adoption fees have been waived. Meet them at arlboston.org.”
